Violent judder on pulling away in 1st on Vauxhall Combi 1.7 P plate?

When pulling away in 1st gear I get violent judder. As soon as I can get into 2nd and above no problem.
Problem is not there when I engage reverse.
Any help much appreciated
Vehicle is a Vauxhall combo D 1.7 on P Plate

Sounds like your bearings have gone in your friction plate (clutch). Unless you are a professional mechanic this problem can only be rectified by a garage with proper tools.
