how can i stop hissing noise from under dash on 206?

hissing/whistling noise coming from under dashboard on 206 1.6 automatic whilst in drive, stops when you accelerate to about 40mph or when you put foot on brake pedal what could be causing it and how can i fix it?

I agree with k, brake servo. Most owners put up with it unless it starts affecting the braking. If it gets too annoying replace the servo.

sounds like brake servo at fault,don't think they are a serviceable part,if not then it will need replacing.
