How can i fix my Dyson vacuum cleaner?

I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner DC05, bought in 2001. The mecanism that rolls up the electricity-wire doesn't block anymore. Does anyone know how I can open the vacuum cleaner and repair this?

Hello Ian,

The information looks really good!
I'am sure I will be able to repair my Dyson now.
First I'll try to take the necessary parts out and if I succeed I will order the new cabledrum and replace it.

Thanks very much!
