I have inherited an old (about 40 years) singer and it is not feeding the material through. The feet are moving up and down when I move it manually.
I think due to this I am getting a very poor stitch quality and lots of looping and clogging up of the bottom sitch.
Any help appreciated. thanks

Take the needle plate off and make sure there are not bundles of fluff built up between the teeth and make sure top pressure dial is about 5 and make sure you have a reasonable stitch lenth
