unable to lock drivers door of my citroen saxo?

i cannot lock the drivers door on my citroen saxo 1.1i desire 2001 either by central locking or manually.
the boot & passenger doors still lock okay with the key. has the central locking gone wrong & can i make a temp repair by disconnecting the central locking?
