yup e manno, when we fit a scanny panel,we give a two year guarantee on them thats how much faith we have in them and we are seldome dissapointed

I can see why Alarm recommended the texecom though, the manuals are easy to follow for a novice, so in reality it's a good choice :)

Ah if op wants an 8 zone :)

9651+9941 RKP, can buy for around 50 quid now,

Purrrrrrrrfect :)

I started utilising scan back in 1984, and because of the boom I was able to take my first steps into self employment, so I haven't a bad word to say about them.some had the odd software issue, but scan usually acted quickly, and we were always kept unto speed with notifications and such issues.

When I handed the co over to my son he ,continued with the scan legacy until customer demand and technology implications, or rather our need for this ,had us moving out of our scantronic comfort zone.

We moved onto the gal range and the perm elite,we had to gts it was the way forward. TBH mate i have the G2-44 fitted in our home now,it took me a while to see past the plastic crap but as I say mate the tech is there.

Suppose i will always have a soft spot for scantronic and would recommend the panel too all, there's a scantronic panel to suit everyones needs .

Scan will always get a big thumbs up from me :)

but as you know, you get what you pay for,we never use cheap trash, then we never get called back to a job for a panel fault electricians use veritas trash coz they cheap and chearfull,as you know, but i would rather use well and tested panels by us,such as the trannys, when we find a panel or bell box,and pirs, that work, well,we stick witrh them, and this has not let us down for years,:-)

gts, August 2012
we think alike emanno,i have fitted lots of the i ons,but as you say pricey, the bell box is trash ,the 9448 is brill little uncomplicated panel, easy to fit and prog,it a little trouper does its job, jusyt 6 zones, but ,hey its ok :-)

gts, August 2012
Nowt wrong with 9448 scantronic,

I would rec the I-0N 16, rather pricey :)

acorn, you are entitled to your opinon,as am i,we dont fit diy panels, for a very good reason,if the folks want to buy them, brill, and it aint just my experience, and i agree with alarm guy, where do you stop ???i would never recon something i have no faith in.if mr evans wants to buy it,well thats up to him,i wish him well with it,rant over !! :-)

gts, August 2012
Not my 1st choice but then again my first would be a Galaxy G2-20. Not exactly DIY is it.
Maybe a 9651 but they seem to be too difficult for the average DIYer too.
Accenta Gen3 ?
Even people get lost with them.

Where do you stop?

Alarm, August 2012
Now now, they are a good panel for DiY, you know that. Your experience has not been everyone's.

acorn, August 2012
hey alarm guy,why veritas ??he will only be back whin9ing about it in future :_)

gts, August 2012
Out of luck, no longer made.
Try ebay,

For £50 you could get a new panel and keypad. That is far better.

Google. Texecom Veritas R8+

Please and thank you cost you nothing.
