How can I fix my Renault Megene Coupe Cabriolet Dynamique T13 parcel shelf?

When opening the roof the parcel shelf does not fold down. When closing the roof it does go down although not properly. I am told by the Renaut garage I need new parcel shelf cables ie500 pounds worth. Does anyone know how to fit these please
