My Kenmore 60791 series Refrigerator is making a squeeking noise?

My Kenmore 60791 series Refrigerator is making a squeeking noise. The noise is much louder when you open the refrigerator door, and appears to be coming from the area where the controls are, which has an opening. Can I fix this? Is this condition dangerous, i.e., can the thing catch on fire. This is my extra refrigerator that I keep in the garage. It is a 17 cu. ft. 60791 series with the freezer on top, and refrigerator underneath. The noise is a high-pitched squeeling sound, what you would expect from a bearing going bad.
Robert E. Wattleworth, December 2004
The fan in the freezer compartment is defective. The sound travels through the duct which emplaces cold air into the refrigerator compartment. The other fan is at the rear of the refrig, next to the compressor. Take the rear plate off the refrig, and listen for noises at the bases of the refrig. If any exist, this needs fixing/oiling. The fans gather smut & dirt and they need to be cleaned & oiled periodically.
