my Fisher and Paykel smart drive washing machine keeps beeping ?

When the water starts to go into the washing machine the most of the lights go off and the rinse light flashes and the machine beeps. The Model number is GW 709 Au - serial No. 544 379. The machine is 13 years old is it even worth repairing? Help would be most appreciated

Hard to say because I don't know where you live(what country) Here in NZ you can get rebuilt main boards and that would cost about $175 with labour

Thank you for your comprehensive reply- I will take your advice and get some over the phone quotes. In your opinion (worse case senario) how much should I expect the repair to be? (approximately) Once again thank you for your time - much appreciated

This is fault code 50. The Motor Controller has measured a voltage from the valve diagnostic circuit that indicates that the hot valve is faulty. The control board checks the inlet valve circuit all the time. It is telling you it sees something wrong on the hot inlet. It could be that the wiring plug to the hot valve is not connected properly, the inlet valve may be faulty and needs replacing or the control board has a fault and will have to be replaced. It will be cheaper to repair than buy a new machine but depends on the condition of the rest of the machine. Phone around for some over the phone estimates to repair.

When it starts beeping look at the 8 lights along the top row. Count from left to right and tell me exactly which lights are on and which are off along that row. That is the error code I need to help you.

The machine has eight buttons - from left to right- the 3rd and 4th green lights go on and the 7th orange button is on and the machine is beeping.
