how to take apart a vacuum for repair?

I have an older electrolux genesis LXE upright, serial V60905B. Something is wrong with the motor, or belt, it barely runs when you turn it on. What do I do to get this apart. Just by looking at it, you can't tell where to start. Help!!!

remove the base plate,this will give you acess to the motor cover screws (norm two)make sure the machine in not plugged into the power supply
