can anyone please tell me the reccomended mileage at which a timing belt should be changed on a volkswagen golf 1.4 2002 reg thankyou.

This engine does not have a recommended interval change by the manufacturer. They do advise checking at 60000 miles, then every 20000 miles after. But if in doubt its always advisable to replace, also the waterpump is driven by the cambelt and should also be replaced as good practice. Labour time about 2 hours
