Hotpoint WT940 display flashing?

Hi - this problem has steadily got worse: what started as a flashing display when the cycle starts but apart from that no other issues, has now degraded to flashing display all the time and no functionality. I can't see any error codes - just a flashing display, sometimes with all the segments displaying, sometimes not.

Just repaired my main board for 54p and a bit of time. Dodgy capacitor on main board failed. Apparently, capacitor failure has been an issue with many electronic items for a number of years - documented on the net. Clearly board manufacturer has used some of these in the building of these boards. Machine fired into life with no issues once capacitor deslodered and replaced.

Thanks - how do I get to the control module? I have the top off so can easily get to the display module.

If the machine no longer functions then it is the main module failure (back of machine). We stock them at £59.88 + post of £6. If we send you one and it does not cure the problem (although this fault is very common), you can return it for a refund, less our handling charge of £10.80. To order, go to our site at www.emwelec.co.uk and put WT940 in the search box or call us on 0115 9652118. If the machine still functions but you cannot read the display, we stock the display board at £41.88 (search for WT940 at our site www.emwelec.co.uk) Tony EMW Electronics
