Scantronic 9800 fault?

Just come home, unset alarm as usual. Noticed shortly after the display on control panel displayig bf.
Understand this is a battery fault, does it mean i need to get a new battery?
What sort/type?
Can i fit myself?

Yes I must admit I muttered several profanities under my breath as I was answering this post, and yet another ear bashing from the good lady.

Her very words were " remember your blood pressure Earnest, I thought you had finished with all that",

Oh yes the dynamo lol :D

manno, you've got more patience than me, I gave up at "Understand this is a battery fault, does it mean i need to get a new battery?"

Nearly suggested that the dynamo (remember them?) was faulty

Yes it is the battery,

12v 6.0 Ah from somewhere like screwfix, maplins, B&Q,

Yes you can fit yourself, just remove the fuse from the fused spur, or isolate it at your consumer unit before you remove the panels cover.

Don't open with mains power present!,

Remember safety first DIY second.

Good luck, be safe :)
