replace a Scandinova fridge thermostat?

I have found the thermostat and it seems easy to replace except there is a think "cable" leading from the thermostat into the rear of the fridge. I am not sure what this is or how to replace it with a new thermostat

I know it's later than 2012, but if it is the 'White' solid looking wire that is the sensor. Take off the cold plate at the back of the fridge section and unscrew the two small screws. That releases the sensor wire. I have replaced a few and it is easy if you attach a thin piece of wire to the end of the white cable so that when you pull it out from the top you can then attach the 'new' sensor wire to your 'draw' wire. Refitting is a reverse of taking it apart.
