Anti Polution Fault?

It's amazing how all these supposed Peugeot trained experts can't agree or cure this common problem. I have a 307cc 2005 2ltr. Anti pol and engine management symbol is permanantly on. I did over 200 miles across France with it breaking down on one cylinder, I tried all speeds fast, slow it doesn't make any difference! I've changed the coil pack, flushed the engine, renewed the plugs, tried super unleaded petrol, nothing has made any difference. Interesting that one the so called experts says on one of the posts change the plugs, but diesel drivers are complaining of the same fault, so that rules out plugs and coil pack. Are there any real experts out there that can help or are they all busy fixing cars instead of writing on here.

Have you actually taken it to your local Peugeot garage because you haven't made that clear.

Who services the car? When was it last properly serviced? Have you checked the air filter? Sounds as if it could need a new one. When the air filter gets dirty and clogged the engine will run too rich and unburnt fuel will be detected by the sensors and cause the anti pollution and engine management sensors to come on.

If the filter is dirty, I would renew it, and use a couple of tankfuls of decent petrol. Given time, and some decent long runs, the unburnt hydrocarbons should burn off the lambda sensors and the warning lights should go out with any luck.

Your sarcasm will get you no where, the majority of people on here help to the best of their ability and its free so just get booked into your local £90/hr garage.
PS. Just been to the Peugeot training college in Coventry for a course on these.
