How do I mend my immobiliser?

I have a renault megane 1.6 rxe p reg. My immobiliser will not switch off by key, how do I fix this problem?

have had the same problem. followed advice given by discostu, worked perfectly. the renault dealer did not want to give me the code and repeated that i must have my vehicle recovered to them. I insisted on being given the code, paid £15 plus vat for the code. Key re-programming now costing £70 for both keys, no reduction for single key,

Had the same thing with my Renault Megane Scenic - the way I got around it was to get the 4 digit code from a Renault Dealer (cost me £10) if for example you code was 4321 . When you turn your key in the ignition the immobiliser light will flash quicker press the internal locking system and then count 4 flashes (dont worry it does slow down) then release press again and count 3 flashes release press again count 2 etc, if you have done this correctly the red light will become constant. Turn the ignition off then back on again and start as normal. Once you have done this you can either live with this or take it to a Renault dealer who will re-programme the key for approx £30
