CK need your help please????

I have a Belling single oven. it has a grill element on top and a element around the fan. both look fine. so i replaced the thermastatand/timer knob as neither are heating up.... any ideas what the problem could be.

does the neon come on when you turn the thermostat up to full ?.
Has it got a clock.If so is it set or flashing.Must be set to work.Could be faulty clock.Also check connector at the back of cooker and make sure you have mains there
