how can i fix my ford sierra azura 1600?

i have a 1993 sierra azura 1600, occasionally when i pull away the car shudders, on days when it does it then it will do it all day, but then the next day it pulls away smoothly, sometimes it will go a whole week without doing it at all, and then for no apparent reason it'll have a bad day again, any suggestions welcome, cheers colin.

If the clutch proves ok, then get the car in the air and check the Universal Joints on either end of prop shat for excessive wear, also half way along there is a supporting bearing in a rubber mount bolted to the floor pan. If this has worn it will cause the prop shaft to "dance" around under initial pull off.

Sounds like the clutch. It's either not making contact properly (clutch worn to death) or it's not releasing properly. I would suggest the first.
