why i have to change my steam irons filter afer every 2-3 months?

i have got a morphy richards steam iron, and the problem is i have to change its filter after every 2 months.what can b the problem? it used to last for about 6 months..

must be a problem with the water, too much lime.. ect in it, try filling the iron from the hot tap,
