ford fiesta 1999 won't lock?

it's a two-door model with manual locking. Insert key and it refuses to lock doors, just cycles open. If I disconnect the wiring from one door the other one will lock and vice versa.

changed passenger latch/lock etc. made no difference. When both doors connected, locks stay open. When I disconnect one door lock the other works no problem. Problem is they won't work together.

As the answser above but also could be the door lock gone faulty,
If you unplug one and it works ok its tells me that its the one you unplugged gone down.
Peugeot also suffer the same problems, and they have diddy switched inside the lock assy that die...
Bonus is these are as cheap as chip to get s/h and easy enough to fit.
Hope that may help if ur not sorted ?

check wiring between door and door pillar, sometimes get breakages there due to constant opening/closing of door
