melcom st6000?

have disconnected power and battery to reset to factory settings put the 1234 code in pressed program and the alarm stops sounding but tamper light stays on and none of the number pad keys work any ideas anyone

I'd suggest that is not the correct way to reset that Melcom6000.

Have you got the manual? If you have it will be in there.

There is a Melcom6*** that I know quite well and I think yours is the same, but not the way you are trying.

It seems to be the norm for people to assume that powering down/up will always reset to factory defaults, complete or just the codes, this is rarely how it is done, in fact I can't think of one.
