Peugeot 'plip' rubber?

The 'plip' rubber on my peugeot 307 hand fob, has worn through; exposing the circuitry beneath. Peugeot want £120 (!!!) for a new one, which I can't afford.
Is there any cheap way of mending this?

Buy a cheap bicycle repair kit and glue a small patch on,only apply glue around the outside of the patch.
