Scantronic 10N?

Hello can you offer some advice please?

I have recently moved into my new home and the keypad in my hallway is way too high for me as i'am in a wheelchair.I would like to lower the keypad, my father is willing to do this but not sure what to do. We have the code but don't know how. Is it easy and what should we do?

all has gone well, better than we had initially thought, turned out the wiring came up between the wall from floor level,so no need to join or run a new length of cable.Thankyou for all advice we received and a special thanks to gts.

Lots of hugs and kisses Millie Tayland x x x x

no prob doll, when the alarm is new,the engineering code is 07890,but when an alrm company fit it they change the code,to their code,if you open the end station, and dont have the code, then you got a prob,we cant give out how to reset the code to default code for ob reasons try key in 07890 see what happens, get back to us if all ok,

Many thanks for all who responded, my dad has read this and is a little concerned about this engineering code?,can you explain this please.

Millie, September 2012
thanks mate we do a lot of them, when we fit remote keypads now in new builds,we fit em at waste height, just in case, you never know who is buying the home,

Gts you must have nimble fingers mate, you hadn't answered before I sent my post in :),

Yes take gts's advice here he defo knows these systems :)

e manno, September 2012
i think i just said that e manno :-)

Well if you only have the one keypad then it's wired i'am afraid.I too don't really know your system but i would think you need to shut the whole system down,(remove mains and battery), not sure if you need the engineering code to reset the system when you have run new cable and repositioned the keypad.

Just take note of the wiring in the panel and in the keypad before you disconnect the existing wiring, you can get proxy tags or fobs that may help or make setting/unsetting the system easier :)

e manno, September 2012
yes it can be lowerd, but if you open the panel you may need the engineering code to reset it,you will need a bit of 6 core alarm cable to connect the keypad lower down,we would norm rewire it than join the cable, but that up to you guys, turn mains power off and remove red wire from the battery,(the bell will sound)before you open the panel,if you rewire it,take note of the cable on keypad and inside the end station
,you can get a remote for the system to set and unset the alarm, its a key fob maby a better idea for you ,hope this helps

Don't know this panel I'm afraid, but it is a Scantronic i-on
