Can you help me ignite my pilot light?

I have a Potterton Flamingo II (RS 40)and the pilot light has gone out. I have pressed the ignite button but nothing is happening. Should I be doing something else as well? Also if I can't get it to ignite should I turn of the gas?

whats the thermocouple??

you have to push the grey button in and push the ignitor at the same time, keep the grey button in for 20 seconds after the pilot is lit and then release, if it goes out again then you will need a thermocouple to be fitted probably.
you dont need to turn gas off as the boiler has a safety device.
