My Hotpoint washing machine model WF860 that is 20 months old, leaves black marks on clothes, when put through a cycle. Not all clothes get black marks on them, just some.
Any suggestions?

We've had a similar problem. We have been led to believe that it could be caused by continually washing at low temperatures and using a liquid instead of a powder cleaner. The liquid detergents do not contain a bleaching agent which helps to keep the machine clean. Try a high temperature wash using soda crystals and repeat this monthly. It should get rid of all the gunge in your machine that is marking your clothes.

hi Tina, we have had the same problem with these black marks , which show up more on the whites!! Hotpoint say it is detergent sludge due to the water in our area being soft! Thet first recommended running a hot cycle without any garments in the washer, which we did, but in the short term did not help. They also persueded us to purchase some detergent/limescale cleaner from them at £10 for 6mths supply, and i must say that after a couple of weeks using these sachets every couple of days, the problem has cleared.-hope this helps.
