my laptop keeps restarting itself n then gives options but turns off b4 i can choose one n then restarts again xxx

Another possible cause may be a heat problem. Make sure that the air vents and ducts are free of dust and any other obstruction.
Check that the heat sink is clean and the fan working properly.

you dont say if it runs on xp or vista or windows 7? you might be able to try running it in (safe mode) and then you might be able to run it in normal start up. look up safe mode start up . in the windows you have as you press the power button to boot it up, keep tapping on the F8 key, before it starts up all the way, that should take you into the safe mode menu, and you can try (system restore) look it up..
