How can one fix the strobe, can one simply buy a new bulb or do i need a new one.It also looks quite modern compared with some,

you wont get much for £20 though most strobes dont wear out, they get damaged by ingress of dampness,so buy a good quality bell box and as has been said, never ever touch the strobe for about 10 mins after the strobe has died

you dont say what type of bell box you have

DON'T TOUCH! The Strobe is often a high voltage flash tube tube and should not be touched as a high voltage charge may be present! More often than not the strobe is integral of the bell box. For around £20 you can buy a whole new bell box and they come with wiring instructions. If you get stuck come back here

Have a look at the bulb see if it's blown,, it could be something else that's wrong, take it along too a electrical shop for testing.
