My 2006 Suzuki Swift brake pedal has excessive travel?

My 2006 Swift has 65k on the clock and recently the brake pedal when applied will keep slowly continuing to the floor. Have taken to mechanics and master cylinder was stated as the reason but new one fitted and fault still present. Mechanic now tells me its a fault with the abs system and will be an expensive fix. The abs light has not ever come on during driving.

pump the pedal with the engine off and see if it goes solid and holds.if it does start the car and see if the pedal drops.if you keep pressing it may well drop to the floor whilst running engine. What I would do is a total flush/fill of brake fluid.very few cars have this done during there life and can cause spongy break pedal
