(siren screeming naighbours going mad) i turned the power of at the fused spair which turned the alarm of. on looking on this forum people suggested it might be the battery so i bought a new battery and still no joy. when i turn the power back on mains or battery all lights light up and upon pressing any key once and getting the usuel blep no more keys make the blepping noise so i cant reset the alarm i have tried variuos ways suggessted on here anyone with any other ideas? thanks in advance

You could if I can find the feking things??,

All the best pal,but there's no panels that I can think of that would fill the gap, and as alarm has said it's not about filling the gap,it's about fitting a good panel.

Ahh my dimensions are for the EUR-95 ( onboard keypad),and Alarms is for the EUR 90 ( endstation with separate rkp),

OMG I know my heads gone but now my eyesight?

Good god i'am falling apart :(

Scantronic 9448 dimensions:

Height 212 mm
Width 212 mm
Depth 68 mm

9448 is pretty straight forward really.
H 210mm
W 210mm
D 65mm

Your 6 zone is around 18 year old now so it ain't done so bad,

sorry to hear you didn't get it going though :(

If you are looking for a replacement then I recommend the scantronic 9448 with onboard keypad, nothing fancy about this little 7 zone, but it's cheap and reliable.

Only downside is it's not very end user friendly from a programming point of view, albeit you did manage to understand your zx6 manual,so in theory you should'nt have any issues.

Measure it and compare the size to some of your choice. There will be others that fit over.

But to be honest, choosing the security of your home because of a patch of wallpaper or paint is a bit silly.

So you can compare the ZX6 dimensions are.
Height 186mm
Width 249mm
Depth Top 40mm
Depth Btm 60mm

thanks e manno as you say looks like time for a new control panel just wanted to try and get this working again as it would have saved on redecorating were the old panel is coming out thanks again

Iam not going to go through the correct reset method on here for obvious reasons, but if you have followed this method as outlined in your manual then it sounds like it's knackered.

It's not just a case of linking out the reset pins,it has to be powered off and on in a correct sequence, and within a specified time frame.

The keypad reset can only be achieved by firstly knowing and punching in the engineers code then pressing "0",

You've give it a go but it's time for a replacement :(

going of the manual it tells me the factory reset is by pressing the '0' button upon doing this still no joy so again tried a differant why i.e. by placing a screw driver accross the NVM reset pins so it shoud go back to factory settings in doing this all my codes would be lost so it would need me to reprogramme it again as i said previousely after pressing 1 of the buttons none of the others work so cant reprogramme it thanks again

chris, October 2012
Did you follow the Factory reset method correctly?

e manno, October 2012
thanks alarm the external sounder did sound until i turned the power of, i then went out and bought a new battery and connected and turned the power back on upon doing this all the lights lit up, upon pressing any one of the keys i got the usuel blep and that was it. i have tried the factory reset and putting a screwdriver accross the NVM to try to reset it but to no avail am i wasting my time thanks again

chris, October 2012
First of all when removing the power the external sounder should ring.
So there is the first fault.

Secondly you need to factory reset the system, Google is your friend here.
Its not a great panel and has probably had it.
Might be time for an upgrade.
