From what mm says it sounds like a very simple job.
But if you're unable to follow his suggestion I would guess £50 should more than cover it - if the tradesman has to go out and buy the new part then it may be more

you can replace it urself.its very simple ,turn power off at consumer unit,remove the fixing screws from under the hob,disconnect the hob from power,check the measurment of it,buy new one,rewire it back up ,
