How do i connect up a tumble dryer motor?

Hello i have a ac mains motor from a tumble dryer, it is not a brushed motor, it has three wires coming from it, two of them go to a large capacitor and there is one wire spare.
what i want to know is how do i connect it up so it works and also can i wire it so it will revolve in either direction?
I want to use it for a project
Thanks
Gary

Thanks Phil being the impatient person i am i went off and had fiddle with a meter and took some readings across the windings and yes the the third wire is like a common for both sets of windings, and by connecting to that and one of the wires on the capacitor it will rotate in either direction.

Thanks again
Gary

the spare wire is properly the neutral
you can only make it revolve both ways by connecting the timer switch
