How can I open the bonnet of my Ford C-Max?

My car is a Ford C-Max 2009 I cannot open the bonnet with the key I tried to use the key as instructed but nothing happens.

Cut hole in grill,smash lock from latch the far end of cable then open with screw driver,by new grill & lock repair kit,if its petrol you can strugle & remove under shilds reach up from under car and smash off but hard to do,,
