drum stop going round after making a squeeking noise which it does from time to time and cant get the top off the machine ive taken the two screws out the back of the top is it just brut force or are there hidden screws.

I have the same problem, except that I can take the top panel off, what next, the machine is making an awful electrical 'grating' noise and the belt is intact, if I remove the smalloval rear panel where the heating element is, I can turn the drum using the fan wheel. Any idea where I should go from here. I had the model previous to this one and it seemed easier to work on, this model is sealed by a plastic panel at the bottom
