Daf 45 130 turbo Clutch not working?

Hi can you help - I,ve got a Daf 45 130 Turbo M-reg and it has been sat for two years. I put new batteries on and it started first turn - great so far. When i tried to move it to see if brakes were seized on it moved about 5 foot ( no seized brakes !) but then the clutch went dead. When i put it in gear there is no connection. I think it needs bleeding as this has been done to it before but not by me. Does anybody know the procedure to do it. The master Cylinder (behind front bonnet panel ) has fluid in it. Thanks.

Daf 45 turbo 150 hp. I have a similar problem as above. I bought this P reg 11 tonne daf and drove it to Wolverhampton. I would periodically start and drive it in the yard. How ever batteries went flat and so I left it for about two months without moving it. I bought new batterries and truck starts superb but does not move even though gears appear to engage ie gear lever whether or not vehicle is running. My mechanic has put seals on clutch master but clutch remains too soft even to bleed by depressing clutch pedal and opening nipple. We are heading for gearbox down. Is that wise? Do we back bleed? How?

sounds like there is pressure on clutch cover which could be due to withdrawal bearing housing siezed on to the sleeve on which it slides, or withdrawal arm stuck somehow!-may be fault with booster causing this, you may need to remove booster to check if arm is free to move [as norb says booster may be under pressure],if all ok then could be clutch driveplate linings/hub at fault.

sounds like the friction plate has stuck on the rusty splines on the input shaft ,or a small piece of linkage on the release arm has seized ..gearbox out job cant remember if there is an access plate at the booster so you can look inside the bellhousing ..if you decide to remove the booster be careful as it may be under pressure

Hi Norb, Thanks for your prompt reply, I will go and review again next week. I know it had a problem before it was parked up and was bled so thats why i was taking that route. When it started up I managed to move it 4 /5 foot taking it easy as was not sure if brakes were seized. It then stopped responding and you can select gears with or without the clutch pedal pressed in with the engine running.

back bleed it..though if you can get it in to gear with engine running it won't need bleeding ,clutch will probably need replacing
