USB DataStick was bent, can I recover the pictures?

My USB DataStick Pro bent, the light will slowly blink, but the computer tells me "insert disc E". Trying to recover pictures on the stick.

It looks like at least one contact got broken in that accident.

This "repair" IS destructive.
You'll need some pliers, a soldering iron, 4 pieces of whires and solder.

Carefully break apart the USB stick casing to expose the circuit board. You want to remove the case but absolutely need to keep the circuit board inside intact!

Take some pieces of whires and weld them between the contacts of the USB plug and the corresponding parts of the circuit board.

This should reestablich the electrical connection.

Carefullt insert in any USB port. Recover your images and any other files from the stick.

You may be able to prolong the life of the stick using generous amount of epoxide cement.
