Hotpoint Ultima tumble dryer will not switch on?

Our Hotpoint Ultima CTD80 tumble drier has 'died' electrically. Push the 'On' button .... nothing. Obviously have checked the plug fuse and wiring, also the wall socket - all ok. Any ideas?
