Zanussi filter cover?

We have a Zanussi washing machine (ZWG 1120M) and have got the E20 message...it wont drain etc. Have pulled down the bottom right cover and unscrewed the cap but it doesnt seem to access anything... its still got a solid core with a plastic disc inside and two pieces of plastic sticking up. it doesnt appear broken and we havent forced anything...so what do i need to do. have checked the spare parts page and the fluff filter cover seems to be what we have removed but on the instruction manual poor photo it appears deeper.... what next guys ?

what is the best way to lever them out?

when you undo that cap you should pull out a plastic trap piece that is about 4.5 inch long. That should be attached to the cap you unscrewed to gain access.if the cap has come off leaving the filter bit still inside the filter housing you have to try lever it out.sometimes you have to break them out and replace them with a new one. This is because stuff gets jammed in them and people don't clean and inspect them regular enough.when you get the filter out shine a torch in to the filter housing and check the drain pump impeller rotates freely by flicking it around with a long screwdriver
