ive been having trouble with my primastar,it started cutting out randomly and restarted..then started cutting out more frequently and took time to start..now it cuts out and wont start but does with easy start!!!

its in a garage and theyve changed filters,primer pump,plugs and a few other parts,i picked it up friday drove 50 yards and the same thing happened again..the garage was puzzled and again plugged it into a computer to find out what has gone this time and it said cranshaft sensor? i dont want them changing every part on the van to solve it,does anyone have any ideas? its a fuel problem as it dont seem to come up all the time and when the engines off it goes back down the pipe,the primer pump wasnt working so its been changed aswell as the fuel line..need help please!!!

i got the garage to change the crankshaft sensor and it seems to have sorted the issue..i now have the van back and is running well,fingers crossed...

I have had the same problem with three of my customers cars with the same fault and it has always been the crankshaft sensor (It is a common fault) It is held in with an allen key head bolt and it is positioned at the rear of the engine block just above the offside driveshaft inner joint and takes about 15 minutes to change from underneath. The reason the sensor fails is because the end of the sensor is inside the engine block and is always splashed in engine oil. Try it, it will work.
