Yeah, the TEX or the Castle also the large text for the "eye challenged". The Mk7 is a bit of an eyesore in the large brass casing but far better than the polycarb unit.
Good idea about the grub screws but the idea is about using a standard electrical flush backbox to mount.
A fitting could be made to give a clean look though, but would you or rather the end user want to pay more? True with the Touch Screen you can customize the background and the idea is a good one, just needs a tweak.

Me not like the look of the brass MK7 rkp Alarm, prefer the tex prem elite chrome finish although the two holding screws through the facia let's it down.

Can't see any reason why tex didn't use grub screws up through bottom of facia,

I do like the dimension touch especially the customisation of the home screen,it's easy to navigate for the end user but it's a bit laggy if you punch in at speed and between menu's.

Only seen these in poly carb though, would be nice in a choice of finishes,

Me like the high res screen and with a few tweaks it's defo the way forward :),

Had a play with a touch screen wireless jobbie not long ago think it was called a lynx something like that, not as good as the dimension but worth a play :)

Ever seen the Galaxy Brass Flush RKP ?
Drove the end users mad using Brasso on it, as it rubbed off the numbers :D Teach them to listen to the advise of using a soft cloth and Mr Sheen!!!

God the old RKP`s with 12 core.............happy days.
At least now we can take speakers and zones from a RKP.

Anyone used the Galaxy Touch Screen, I think it needs more work personally after having used them, and the first malfunctioning (Think I had a return repacked myself by the manufacturer, not the supplier). There is better interfaces out there for heating controls ATM IMHO.

Still this does not assist the OP any more than before, but then again she has had all the advise needed.

Scanny did well until the merger with Cooper and they tried to swap components and programming for a while.
A slight dip but now all sorted.

Alarm, November 2012

can scantronic make panels or can they not ? :-)she only wanted the new panel coz old one not go with her new decor

gts, November 2012
Ahh yes I forgot about the 9943,well TBH Alarm me not seen this style of RKP with the 9651 panel or fitted one.

Only used the 40/41 as a replacement for the 30s, mind you that was many moons ago,

Thanx for the clarification m8 :)

e manno, November 2012
9330 Side flap screw underneath.
9943 Bottom Flap and screw underneath.

Never seen one damaged as mentioned.
And I have fitted a few in my time, never replaced a RKP yet.
When you think of it, the panel is a staple small domestic for many companies for a reason.

Alarm, November 2012
Did 9930 have side flap Alarm?,or did that have flap at all?,

Was'nt that the old style rkp.

Thnx m8ty :).

Sorry to ask me can't remember :(

e manno, November 2012
Just remember the 40/41 hinge at bottom :)

Thank m8

e manno, November 2012
There were two styles of RKP m8ty.
The old with side flap. The latter with bottom.
Not the same.

No point pressing any spring if you can't close the keypad.

The tamper spring fits over the tamper post bottom left on them, only two types of keypads suit the 9651.

One has prox reader but both are cosmetically the same.

By another keypad or do what we electricians do :

Test the tamper switch for closure, refit spring and get the no nails out,it won't come off again!!.

That should suffice whilst you get your new one, plus you have spare pcb,so you can bang away on them buttons as hard as you like :D

e manno, November 2012
And no disrespect to Electricians, but what would that do with a broken alarm component?
You need a better alarm company and tell us how you actually broke the keypad :D

There would/should have been a screw holding the cover down, so to break that and the lugs takes some doing.
Go on , tell us the truth :D

Because we have.
