While cleaning I get the message open drawer I open place the tablet and close push start button but it will not work the message to open drawer still there

I have a Siemens Bean to Coffee maker which is only 200 cups used.TK76K573GB
I have removed it from the unit to sell it and the buyer reports that the grinder does not work, but it worked when it was in situ. No error is coming up - just no grinding or movement of the beans.
Could this be because it is not in the built in unit and just on a table top? Can you help?

Next to the coffee bean holder there's a little drawer where you can put ground coffee. Open that and it'll tell you to put the cleaning tablet in there. Close the drawer and continue. Hope this helps.
