electric trips when i turn seletor switch?

evertime i turn the selector switch on the electric trips ive just replaced it and is still doing the same plus i noticed the bulb had gone so i took the bulb out and is still doing it could it be the element? its a kenwood ck405

easy way to test element without meters is to disconnect wiring from them one by one.Take a picture on phone or camera 1st.tape the connections so they are insulated then turn switch on.if it does trip when that element is disconnected you could be on to something.this is 100% fool proof though!

Unlikely ever to be the switch that causes a trip - more often than not a faulty element - the one connected to the switch.
