How can I repair my very slow HP Photosmart 7762 Printer?

My HP Photosmart 7762 Printer has suddenly become extremely slow. It can now take up to 15 minutes to print an A4 sheet and I dont think it is a setting issue. Can anyone offer any advice?

I had the exact same problem ... and investigated spooler settings, print prefs (took it off auto paper, best printing etc), took it off the PC & tried printing from the the memory card (so not several things there). The HP diagnostics testing software I downloaded said it was working fine. I also changed the B&W cartridge .... but I found out eventually it was actually the colour cartridge! Hooray!

I hope this helps someone else.

Hi
I assume speed issue happens from all applications.
Check current driver settings - is it set to highest quality output ?
Try reinstalling the driver with standard options.
Try creating a new version of the printer.
Try different drivers.
Check the support info and driver downloads at hp ...
