How can I fix my door entry system cable which a staple went through?

When refixing cable for the door entry system to the wall after decorating, a staple unfortunately went through the cable and it no longer works. When the buzzer is pressed downstairs it states "tel disconnected" What is the best way to remove the damaged part of the cable then re-connect the cable?

Any help would be much appreciated

Assuming its not been pulled as tight as a Scotsman purse strings.
You may have to pull back a bit more external sheathing and add a spare piece of cable, preferably soldering it.

What system is it?
Might be easier to swap a spare core at the external and internal distributer.

PS, you should have buried it after decorating and used a correct staple gun.

best way would be ti replace the cable, but you could just join the cut part together with tape ,what to do is remove the cable from the frame, pull off a couple of staples, then carefully cut a bit of the outer sleeve to expose the cores, find the one that has been cut, they are colour coded so just bare the wire ends that are cut and twist the bare ends together then join it with insulating tape make shure the cable ends you join are same colour then wrap more tsape around the cable
