My Creda dishwasher overfills?

When my Creda dishwasher fills with water the shut off does not work and the water spills out past the door seal. Is there an easy fix for this or should I buy a new one

the float is a safety device not the problem! the problem is the overflow and that could be a number of things.

I am having problems with mine today also. I read somewhere today there is a float in the bottom of the machine. This float raises as the water level comes up and stops the water from overflowing. not sure but you might check into it. A float should not be all that much.
