I have a Nissan primastar 05. I had a new clutch about 7 months ago and its never been right really due to adjustment id say, now when I push the pedal wether its in or out of gear it makes a terrible rattling noise? it drives fine and goes into gears as normal but makes this noise whenever I push the pedal..

firstly what is the problem and secondly should it happen to a 7 month old clutch?

ive always been suspicious if it was renewed or not as the original problem was the slave cylinder but as the box had to come out I was advised to renew the clutch..
any help would be appreciated

ive taken the van in for them to look at and they suspect the duel mass flywheel and reckon it will cost £600 parts only! i cant afford it atm so am driving it but keeping it out of gear as much as poss..is it likely to break down completely or just sound bad?

thanks....I spoke to one of the mechanics and explained the noise and he was confident it was the thrush bearing?..what is the most likely cause and if possible can you tell me what possible problems are part of the clutch..basically im trying to rule out that they may of not renewed the clutch...the owner is a mate and so is a couple of the mechanics,i spent loads there lately and hoping they aint pulled one on me!..

also the noise changes time to time, sometimes its loud and sounds as if the engine has marbles inside.lol..and other times its not so bad?.

I am not sure if your motor has a dual mass flywheel but these can cause problems you are experiencing,they are usually very expensive and a lot of people convert now to a solid flywheel,have had plenty of new faulty clutches so I wouldn`t rule anything out but it looks like your g/box will have to come out again for a look,if the garage didn`t replace what they said then you will have to take that up with them.
