We have a bigger problem as it is now dead,it's been ringing all afternoon whilst we were out,the bell outside has stopped ringing now,only sqwalking now and then.can it be fixed without calling someone out,if so can you tell me in simple terms please.

It's your system installed in your house,we can't see it from where we are unfortunately.Myself and acorn told you what the issue was in your first posting.

Either "mains failure" or "battery",the mains led on the control panel and remote keypads should be lit at all times,only you know that cos you didn't include this in your last post,remember?.

Sounds like you ignored the mains fail (no mains led),this explains why you have no backlights on your keypads as the backlights are extinguished to conserve backup battery drain.

So now after several hours your system is dead....so what's that telling you?...... No mains and your backup battery is 99.9% goosed and chances are it won't come back up when you restore power to the panel.

Why didn't you act on our information in your first post?,can assure you we all know what we are talking about...we've all earned our bragging rights.
