The vehicle was running fine yesterday gone out today and it won't start, notice a slight grind or werring noise when started last thing yesterday but still worked fine .today makes a funny noise when trying to start and notices the coil light goes off nearly straight away as soon as the dash board lights come on any suggestions please

You could try turning the crank pulley and watch the pulley on the g/box end of the camshaft to make sure it is turning,if not you may have timing chain issues,if all is well then i would think about getting it onto a code reader for a look at faults stored and without hearing your grinding/whirring then it is hard to determine what is at fault,good luck
