Best way to get the battery out of a Renault Megane 2.0 1998?

I have to repair a friend´s Renault Megane, it needs a battery change. It is mounted behind the firewall and under the body below the windshield. What is the best way to take it out, how much do I need to remove?

you should be able to remove apart of the windscreen trim just by the wiper (d/s)two torque screws hold it down remove and the section should come out. this will give you the space you need.
