if you look at the n/s of the engine,just above the g/box there is a pulley driven off the camshaft which drives a small fan belt.That fan belt drives the water pump and the p.a.s.One thing to check is the actual small fan belt and the auto tensioner which were bad for breaking up and seizing,hence overheating and cutting out,later models were driven off a small fanbelt off the crank pulley
