Burner goes off when the control valve comes out with a click sound?

My potterton Flamingo RS40burner flame goes off with the pilot lamp, when the control valve releases fully out with a click sound. It works when I push the control valve fully down and press the ignition. But after some time the control button comes out fully with a click sound causing the burner and pilot lamp fully off? Is this the problem of the valve?

I could not remove the front cover, but removed the bottom cover sliding out. How to remove the front cover, couldnt see any screws?

check the thermcouple (it catches the flame on its tip from the pilot and keeps the valve open). if its faulty or worn out will need replacing, also check the pilot light itself is it a good blue flame or a weak yellow. it could be partially blocked with soot or dust its well worth cleaning with a hoover or better to take it apart and clean it out. i wouldnt thinks its the valve
